After installing my Keyless RV Lock, what do I do if my door is hard to shut or does not shut right?

After installing you lock, your door may not shut properly due to several reasons:

  1. Misalignment: The new lock may not be aligned correctly with the door frame, causing difficulty in shutting the door smoothly.
  2. Size or Fit: The replacement lock might be slightly larger or smaller than the original, affecting the door's closure.
  3. Hardware Issues: There could be problems with the screws or other hardware used during the installation, leading to an improper fit.
  4. Latch Adjustment: The latch mechanism might need to be adjusted to ensure it fits securely into the door frame.
  5. Door Alignment: It's possible that the door itself is misaligned, which is causing issues with the lock's operation.
  6. Manufacturing Defect: The replacement lock could have a manufacturing defect that affects its functionality.

To troubleshoot the problem, you can:

  • Double-check the installation to ensure everything is properly aligned and securely fastened.
  • Verify that the new lock is the correct size and fit for your specific RV model.
  • Adjust the latch mechanism if necessary.
  • Inspect the door and its frame for any signs of misalignment or issues.
  • After installing everything, do not fully tighten, instead close the door and once everything is aligned fully tighten. This will allow the door lock and striker plate to perfectly align before tightening.
  • If the problem persists, please reach out to our support team.
